We plan to provide resources for elder abuse victims at risk of violence while using victim advocacy and case management services. We will also attempt to resolve the conflict between the offender and victim using restorative justice principles so that after receiving our services and the victim returns to their home their living conditions will be significantly enhanced. Each elder will be able to shelter in our facilities for up to three months; during this time they will receive protected, continuous, monitored, and ongoing services.
-
We are striving to raise donations to plan to provide an emergency care shelter, victim advocacy, and coordinated case management services for victims of severe elder abuse in the Fresno/Madera area.
-
Our services will be for those who are in imminent danger in their own homes and need a place of safety and a place where their situation can be addressed, their trauma treated and homelessness avoided.
-
We were founded in 2009 and have come a long way; our community information activities and our telephone response line are fully operational, but our shelter is a work in progress awaiting funding.
-
Currently, we are in need of financial support and volunteers to help us achieve our goal of opening our shelter as soon as possible. The longer we wait, the longer elders continue to be victimized.
